2021 Annual Report and Financial Accounts

The Office of the Cook Islands National Superannuation Fund now submits to members the CINSF Annual Report (unaudited) and Financial Accounts for the year ending December 2021.

In summary, the Fund’s total net assets have grown by $10.6m from $208.2m in 2020 to $218.8m in 2021. Combined contributions were $14.9m in 2021 up from $11.4m in 2020. Benefit Payments were $9.5m in 2021 an increase of $5.2m from 2020, mainly due to pensioner claims from the increased minimum threshold. In addition, 421 new Members joined the Fund, bringing total membership to 12,761 at the end of 2021, whilst pensioners decreased to 254 as at the end of 2021.

The investment returns are a combination of the change in market value plus any distributions, which are reinvested back into the Funds.
