The Cook Islands National Superannuation Fund (CINSF) has recently completed a review of the default option for members and approved the following change.
From 1 January 2022, the default investment option will be the Balanced Fund. This will apply to any new member joining the CINSF, from 1 January 2022, who does not select an investment option or selects the default investment option.
Existing members who have not selected an investment option, or have selected the default investment option, will remain in the Conservative Fund. CINSF intends to carry out public consultations in early 2022 to further consider the benefits of moving existing members from the current default investment option of the Conservative Fund to the new default investment option in the Balanced Fund.
