Adrian Orr Appointed to CINSF Board

9 July 2025

The Cook Islands National Superannuation Fund (CINSF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Adrian Orr to its Board, effective this month.

Mr. Orr, a proud New Zealand Cook Islander, brings extensive experience in financial governance and investment management. He previously served as Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund.

A long-time advocate for the establishment of a pension fund for the Cook Islands, Mr. Orr supported his uncle, former Member of Parliament Norman George, who championed the CINSF Act through Parliament. Since the Fund’s inception, Mr. Orr has provided strategic and operational support to the Board and Executive, contributing to the Fund’s continued development.

Mr. Orr also collaborated with CINSF CEO Damien Beddoes to establish the Pacific Islands Investment Forum, a regional initiative representing over 20 funds from 12 countries. The Forum, who combined manage over NZD $100 billion in assets, promotes collaboration, education, and co-investment across the Pacific.

CINSF Chairman Heinz Matysik welcomed the appointment, stating:
“Adrian brings a wealth of industry knowledge and leadership that will strengthen our Board. His appointment comes at a pivotal time as the Fund enters its next phase of growth and development.”

This year, CINSF celebrates its 25th anniversary, having surpassed NZD $300 million in assets under management. The Fund continues to grow and enhance the retirement savings of Cook Islanders.
